The Arts
Our school has always had a strong tradition in the Arts. We offer:
- Speech and Drama classes with certified drama exams.
- Performances by visiting Theatre and Music companies.
- School choir taught by a former member of the Dublin Gospel Choir.
- Free violin lessons taught by a traditional Irish Musician.
Sport
Our school was awarded an Active Schools Flag in 2011. We place high value on encouraging all the girls to participate and enjoy a healthy, active lifestyle. We do this through:
- A Playground on yard including a slide, monkey bars, spider's web. We also have a football pitch.
- A variety of yard equipment such as skipping ropes, badminton racquets, balls, scoopers, hula hoops, bean bags and much more!
- In June we run an active School's week with P.E. every day including a jog day and a Sports for All Day
- Swimming lessons in Northside Pool
- Close cooperation with Parnells GAA club who provide coaching every week
- After School Football and camogie training
- Athletics Training
- Healthy Eating Policy
Our School Football team won the 'Corn na Laoch' in the cumann na mbunscol finals in Croke Park
AFTER SCHOOL CLUB
After School Club takes place three evenings a week in our school, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Here the teachers Ms. McShane, Ms. Clarke and Ms. Kelly help the girls with their homework from 2.30 to 3.30. The girls then get a little snack and go to the P.E. hall for activities. It finishes at 4.20pm.
