St. John of God G.N.S is an all girls Catholic School located in Artane, North Dublin.

The building consists of 16 bright rooms which surround the administration block and P.E. Hall.

We are very lucky to have a wonderful playground for the children to play in at breaktimes. Outside the children can play on the climbing frames, spiger's web and slide. During the summer months, they have access to the playing field. This ensures that breaktimes are funfilled and active in our school!

Apart from the classrooms the school has a state of the art computerised library, a computer room, two English resource rooms, a Maths resource room, a Language Support room and a Parent's Room

OUR STUDENTS

The staff of St John of God acknowledges the uniqueness of each pupil. We strive through our programmes and planned learning activities to contribute to all aspects of each child's development - emotional, spiritual, social, cultural, creative, aesthetic and moral, as well as intellectual. While we attach great importance to high academic achievement and give to each pupil the skills of literacy, numeracy and oral communication consistent with her ability, we at all times strive to help each child grow in self worth and confidence through experiencing success in various aspects of the total curriculum.

OUR TEACHERS

While we have wonderful material resources our greatest resource is our highly dedicated staff. Much emphasis is placed on pupil / teacher relationship as we believe children learn best when they feel secure. For this reason it is vital that children see the teacher as supporting the parents and parents as supporting the teacher. Parents are always welcome to meet with their daughter's teacher. Parent / Teacher meetings are organised each year. Parents are also welcome to make an appointment to meet their daughter's teacher or Ms McNicholas at any time.
